Nike NACC

For the Nike store managers, aka the “Coaches,” there is one moment every year where they gather as a group to share information and enjoy the comradery of their peers. Nike asked us to take the lead on this year’s event in San Diego and level up the NACC.

The first priority for Nike was creating a fresh identity system for the event that would be applied to every piece of communication and every touch point.

Once the identity was built, it was then applied to a vast array of components, content, and environments.

Our team then designed and produced all the elements and environments for the events.

Welcome to the NACC!

For the Nike store managers, aka the “Coaches”, the annual North American Coaches Camp is their moment to train, reflect, and commune with their peers. For this year, Nike wanted to elevate the experience and make it feel more custom built for the coaches.

We started with a comprehensive identity system that drafted off the larger Nike visual language, but was purpose-built for the NACC. Within the system we created everything from a custom graphic language, color palette, branding, font system, photo usage, and motion. The identity system needed to be modular, so it could be used on everything from wayfinding, to presentation slides, to merch. Fun fact, this was approved at the first round, no changes.

Once the identity system was set, we then took on all the elements for the event including environment graphics, wayfinding, credentials, marketing collateral, templates for presentations, motion graphics, a/v assets, and swag. Literally everything that could be branded NACC was!

The NACC is a multi-day event and happens within hotel conference rooms and auditoriums. Our next challenge was to plan the spaces and tone the neutral hotel spaces to bring in some color and energy. Our approach needed to be modular, freestanding, and budget friendly. There were also two different locations, one indoor, one outdoor, and we were tasked with finding a way to stretch what we were creating to cover both. Our solution was a graphical cube structure that could be reconfigured and relocated as needed. During registration, these cubes were sited in the lobby, but during presentations, they were relocated to stage, finally landing at the beach for the wrap party. These were some hard working cubes!

We also handled the production and installation of all pieces (including the cubes) for all the events, ensuring everything was delivered on-time and on-budget.

The NACC needed a very hands-on treatment. so we had producers on-site for the entire week to ensure everything went smoothly. Nike also needed us to capture video footage so we also had a film crew to capture the highlights for daily video recaps that were shared with the Coaches. The final deliverable from all the footage was an event recap video.

The NACC in San Diego was a true success story and the Coaches felt that this event was truly theirs. Can’t wait to do it again!
