Widmer Moda Center Bar
As a title sponsor for the Portland Trailblazers, Widmer has been a steady presence in all the Blazers games. Their in-stadium bar is a big draw on game day, and was in need of a refresh.
Rip City
Situated in Portland’s Moda Center, home of the Portland Trailblazers, the Widmer Bar is a high profile destination for fans of the brewery. As the Widmer brand had evolved, the bar had not kept up and was in need of an overhaul.
Working with the existing footprint and built elements, we re-imagined the space with a bolder, more engaging presence. Thinking through the consumer journey, we created messaging, a graphic palette, and a hierarchy of signage to create a seamless brand experience.
One insight in our research was that fans are at the Moda center to have a good time, so we created a 3D beer posted on the wall to invite a photo moment that would give the fans a fun brand moment.
We also wanted to provide some storytelling about the brand, so we skinned the high top tables with a fun info graphic that give consumers more reasons to love the brand.
In the end, the bar was transformed, and fans of Widmer and the Blazers have a place to go to feel proud of their city, their team, and their beer.
